Must: deber (Prácticament un deber moral).

*Acompaña siempre a otro verbo

I must read this book.......Debo leer este libro.

you must work hard.........Debeis trabajar duro.

He must listen to me.......Debe escucharme.

we must go to town.........Debemos ir a la ciudad.

they must live together....Deben vivir juntos.

* Como verbo modal no tiene infinitivo en TO. (No existe el infinitivo TO MUST)

to read..........leer

to work..........trabajar

to listen to.....escuchar

to go.............ir

to live............vivir

pero:

must...........deber

* En presente no añade -S en la 3era persona del singular (he,she,it)

I must study every day
Debo estudiar cada día.

you must go to bed early.
Debes acostarte temprano.

he must copy the text.
Debe copiar el texto.

we must do our homework.
Debemos hacer nuestros deberes.

they must watch the movie.
Deben ver la película.

Sin embargo otro verbo:

* Su forma negativa es: MUST NOT o MUSN'T

I must not sleep................I musn't sleep
you must not sing............You musn't sing
he,she,it must not speak.He musn't speak
we must not play..............we musn't play

to sleep (dormir)
to sing (cantar)
to speak (hablar)
to play (jugar)
to run (correr)

* Realiza la interrogativa por inversión con el sujeto:

They must.....Must they...?

Así:

Must I                      go back home?
Must you                 leave your hometown?
Must he                   clean his car?
Must we                  paint our house?
Must they                travel to Paris?

¿Debo regresar a casa?

¿Debes abandonar tu ciudad natal?

¿Debe limpiar su coche?

¿Debemos pintar nuestra casa?
